Question: Will I need to be a member of a Professional Association to join the Register of the CNHC?
Answer: No. As long as your qualifications meet the basic requirements of the CNHC, you will be able join the register. However, membership of a Professional Association is advisable for professional support and advice.
Question: Who will check my CPD folder?
Answer: Your professional association, if you are a member, will check this for you. Otherwise it will be the Education and Standards Board of the FRC. There will be spot checks by the CNHC to make sure that the CPD standards are maintained.
Question: Will I have to submit evidence of CPD every year?
Answer: Yes. You will need to prepare a folder of evidence each year, and fill out a CPD assessment form. There will be easy guidelines to follow.
Question: If a CPD course I choose to follow is not recognised by my PA, can I still use it in my CPD evidence portfolio?
Answer: Yes, you can. You will, however, need to explain how it has helped and informed your professional practice.
Question: If I am not a member of a PA, who will check my qualifications?
Answer: The Education and Standards Board of the CNHC will check your qualifications.
Question: How do I know which qualifications will be recognised:
Answer: There will be a list of recognised qualifications, which will be advertised on the website of the CNHC, or available on request. Any new qualification will have to meet already agreed baseline criteria, and be subjected to assessment by the CNHC. The baseline criteria for Shiatsu will be documented and available to you on request.
